Shipping and receiving – inventory clerk
Photothermal Spectroscopy Corp. (PSC) develops award winning microscopy and chemical analysis tools used for scientific research and development and has pioneered the field of optical photothermal IR spectroscopy (O-PTIR). Our rapidly growing scientific instrumentation company is looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Test/Service Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position, in our downtown Santa Barbara facility.
Summary of duties
The Shipping and Receiving/Inventory Clerk will work closely with the Materials Manager to receive incoming parts, organize the stock/warehouse and make sure the warehouse remains clean and safe. In addition, this position will support manufacturing by pulling assembly kits and assisting with inventory counts. This position will also help with packing and shipping.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warehouse management:
- Keep the stock and warehouse organized
- Pull Assembly kits
- Maintain shipping supplies, for parcels and system shipments
- Making sure the warehouse is clean and safe
- Count Inventory, partial count monthly and full inventory count biannually
- Receiving:
- Receiving to MRP and stocking in warehouse
- Incoming Inspection – make sure we received what was ordered and basic quality inspection
- Labeling parts
- Binning the parts in the warehouse
- Shipping:
- Small parcel shipments, domestic and international
- Trade show booth coordination- packing, arranging shipment & return
- Assist with customer shipments
- Initiate and Process RMAs for return shipments
Qualifications
A successful candidate will have:
- US work authorization (Required)
- Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff at all levels verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills required, with experience using Word, Excel, and email
- Detail oriented with high attention to product quality
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within defined time limitations
- Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs
- Experience with a MRP system a plus
Hours/Pay
Full time position, flexible scheduling available. Hourly pay, rate commensurate with experience.
